【私たちの現状と 皆さまにお願いしたいこと】

To list a couple: the money has paidfor the rent of our office and warehouse, utility cost, running cost of using ourvan and many more. For the past 2 years, we had additional funding fromOkinawa’s Child Poverty Prevention fund to work on “Joint Projects forChildren’s Future.” This funding was a big part support for our operation.However, as the government subsidy is ending in March 2020, we will be facing aserious financial crisis which gives us no option but to consider halting ouroperations after April 2020.

フードバンクセカンドハーベスト沖縄の活動は、これまでの13年間、事務所や食料庫の家賃、光熱費、運搬車両の維持費などをたくさんの個人や企業のみなさまからの貴重な寄付金や助成金、また当団体の会員になってくださった皆様からの会費により支えられてきました。さらにこの2年間は、沖縄県の子供の貧困対策基金の助成を受け、活動の中心的な支えを受けてきました。しかし、2020年3月をもって、県からの助成が終了してしまうことがすでに決まっており、来年２０２０年の４月以降は、フードバンクとしての活動の継続が危ぶまれています。
Dueto the enactment of the “Food Waste Reduction Law” in October 2019, we estimatethat the number of companies that donates food will start increasing. Inaddition, these companies will set up improved logistics to further increasefood donations. However, currently our refrigerator, freezers and warehouse istoo small to accommodate the amount of food that is projected to come in. Currently we have three full times staff and eight additionalmembers that work once or twice a week. Even with our hard-working effort it isinsufficient manpower to pick up food donations from companies, to pick up fromfood drives and then coordinate delivery of donated foods to social welfareoffice and child-mother care intuitions.
今年制定された「食品ロス削減法案」が１０月から施行されたことにより、食品を寄贈する企業数の増加が予想されます。また各企業内で食品寄贈に関する方策が整い始めるころに, つづいて寄贈量の増加が見込まれます。 しかしながら、現状の倉庫は、食品の保管と作業をするには狭すぎで、冷凍冷蔵庫の容量では、寄贈食品のすべてを受け入れることができません。現在、常勤スタッフ3人と、週1〜2回勤務の8人のボランティアで運営していますが、このままでは、食品受け取りのために出向いたり、食品と提供先（養護施設、団体、社協窓口等）の数量及びタイミングのマッチング、イベント等の準備など、NPO運営作業すべてをまかなっていくことは、継続さえ厳しい状況です。
Ourmission is to continue to feed the less fortunate community with surplus foodhere in Okinawa. In order to effectively continue our operations for this yearand beyond, we are in dire need of financial support to obtain a larger foodwarehouse, larger refrigerator, larger freezer and to secure more full-timemembers to continue operations. We ask for your kind and generous support.
あまってしまった食品を、本当に必要とする人のもとへとどけていく、私達フードバンクとしての活動を、来年度以降も続けていくために、今よりも大きな食品倉庫、冷凍、冷蔵庫、なにより継続して常勤して働くスタッフの増員と確保が、私達に必要です。皆さまのご協力をお願いいたします。
